Is your child also captivated by the magical adventures of Sophia and her friends on Unicorn Island? The Netflix series Unicorn Academy is incredibly popular, and so is the demand for its matching toys. If you're looking for a gift, the selection can be overwhelming. Which character should you choose? Should you opt for a standalone unicorn or a set with a rider? This article is designed to give you a clear overview of the available options, helping you make a choice that perfectly matches your child's wishes.

Buyer's Guide: What to Look For

Before we dive into specific products, here are a few practical points to consider when choosing Unicorn Academy toys.

1. A Standalone Unicorn or a Set with a Doll?

A key initial decision is whether you want a standalone Unicorn Academy unicorn or a play set that includes one of the Unicorn Academy dolls.

• Standalone Unicorns: Figures like Leaf and Cinder are larger and ideal for children who love to create their own stories starring the magical creatures. They are often detailed and perfect for collecting.
• Play Sets with a Doll: Sets like the one featuring Sophia and Wildstar are focused on recreating the bond between rider and unicorn, just like in the series. These sets often include extra accessories and interactive elements.

2. Features and Playability

The toys, produced by Spin Master, vary in their features. Some figures, like the Sophia and Wildstar toy set, have light-up effects that can be activated with a button. Other figures focus more on role-playing with removable saddles and bridles. Consider what type of play the child enjoys most: do they love interactive gadgets, or do they prefer creating adventures on their own?

3. Characters from the Series

The appeal of these toys from the Netflix series largely comes from the recognisability of the characters. Does the child have a clear favourite? Sophia and her unicorn Wildstar are the main characters, but friends with their unicorns, such as Leaf and Cinder, are also beloved choices. Knowing which character is their favourite makes the decision much easier.
