Before you purchase a roll of mesh, it is important to determine its function and required properties. The following criteria will help you make an objective choice.
The choice of material determines the durability, flexibility, and maintenance of your garden fencing.
The purpose of the mesh determines the required structure and density.
These two parameters are directly linked to strength and functionality.
Based on product parameters and application possibilities, we have selected three different types of garden mesh.

1. What is the difference between galvanized and plastic-coated metal mesh? Galvanized mesh has a protective zinc layer that prevents rust. Plastic-coated mesh has an additional plastic (PVC) coating on top of that. This extra layer offers better protection against weather and chemical agents, which typically extends its lifespan. Plastic-coated mesh is also often available in colours like green or black.
2. How do I install a privacy screen on my fence? A privacy screen or sight-blocking cloth usually comes on a roll and is often equipped with reinforced edges with metal eyelets. You unroll the cloth along your fence and secure it with cable ties or binding wire passed through the eyelets and the fence. Make sure the cloth is pulled taut to prevent it from flapping in the wind.
3. What mesh size do I need for chicken wire? For adult chickens, a mesh size of up to 50 mm is generally sufficient. If you have chicks or also want to keep out smaller predators like martens, a smaller mesh size of 25 mm or less is recommended. Also, check that the mesh is high enough to prevent the chickens from flying over it.
